About Kelly

I am a native Chicagoan and a User Experience Designer who just completed an M.S. in Human-Computer Interaction from DePaul University in March of 2008. In studying HCI, I’ve supplemented my web design and development background with experience in interaction design, user research, usability testing, requirements gathering, cognitive science, prototyping, and more!

I’ve worked in a variety of environments, from big companies to tiny non-profits both as a team player and solo designer. I am drawn to user-centered design for countless reasons; I believe good design can change the world; I’ve long been an empath and advocate for others; my design sense is structured, intuitive and elegant; designing with constraints is where I’m most at home.

Throughout graduate school I immersed myself in extracurricular activities attending IxDA meetings, joining professional associations, volunteering for user experience conferences, and competing in (and winning!) design and entrepreneurship competitions.

I’m excited to finally put all that I’ve learned, along with my past experience to good use. I’m looking for a collaborative team who wants a passionate user advocate and designer. Is that you? Please email me.

What else does Kelly do? Excuse me; I’ve failed to mention the fun stuff! I love photography, hula hooping, cooking, pretending I’m a mixologist, the Wii, traveling, visiting art shows and museums and renovating my home.

About this website

For the curious, I designed this website in a mixture of Photoshop and CSS-experimentation. This was previously hand-coded in plain old HTML, but I finally converted it all to WordPress and couldn’t be happier!
